I have to confess that the Strahlhorn was not exactly one of my favourite Alpine routes. Whilst it offered some good views, the bulk of the route was taken up with route finding on a series of glaciers in late August; our crossing of the glacial terrain was thus less than direct. I was also feeling more like 70% than 100% that day so this point, the start of the descent, was very welcome indeed.
